As you know, the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has had a profound and tragic impact on our society and has fundamentally altered societal norms and professional practices. Ever since Governor Phil Murphy’s March 21 executive order to “mitigate the impact of COVID-19,” we at PRAB have continued to deliver our services and programs to ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors, including program participants.

The past six months, our Coronavirus Response Team has met to (1) minimize the effects of the coronavirus on staff and program participants and (2) prepare our facilities to ensure health and safety when we reopened to the community. This has included making building modifications and securing personal protective equipment. All throughout, we have complied with prevailing government, health, contractual, and institutional rules and regulations, including the CDC and the Middlesex County Office of Health Services (MCOHS).

RETURNING TO WORK AS OF OCTOBER 2020

On Monday, October 5, PRAB will be reopening our main office at 90 Jersey Ave, New Brunswick. First, we will welcome our staff members on a limited scale, where they will provide services from our offices and prepare to receive our visitors. Several weeks later, we will begin receiving visitors for in-person appointments on a limited basis. We will also increase the number of visitors in the building as guided and directed by the CDC and MCOHS.

As staff, program participants, and visitors return to our building, we will be taking the following specific steps to cultivate a safe and healthy environment:

  • We will wear masks and maintain proper self-distancing while inside the building
  • We will have our temperature checked before entering the building
  • We will frequently wash our hands to eliminate germs and reduce the risk of illnesses
  • We will maintain plexiglass and other safety measures to allow safe distance between staff members, program participants, and visitors
  • We will clean and sanitize the building daily

As time progress, the Coronavirus pandemic may get better or worse, but know that you are not alone. Life may be hard and even scary, yet PRAB is here to help support you and our community in these moments of uncertainty. We are proud to be partners in your life’s journey and look forward to helping you achieve success in your personal, family, and community.

Sincerely,

PRAB
