Beginning in July of 2018, the Puerto Rican Action Board Inc. established Project ENLACE to serve the Senior Citizen population of the Greater New Brunswick area through the efforts of their Multi-Service Center. The primary goal of this project is to increase access to services for senior citizens, utilizing an information and resource referral system that takes into account the cultural and linguistic needs of the population they serve. The services provided are free of charge, and are Spanish language accessible.

Since its inception, Project ENLACE has:

  • served 24 adults 55 years of age and older through providing food from our Food Pantry
  • helped 204 adults 55 years of age and older receive general services through the support of the Multi-Service Coordinator and Outreach Representatives
  • conducted 37 site visits to senior citizen centers, adult care centers, housing developments, and various other senior-populated areas
  • given eight presentations to educate Senior Citizens throughout Mercer Country

In 2019, Project ENLACE is looking to provide several workshops, with at least two of them being given in Spanish.
